Abstract

This booklet has been prepared to support you in your new teaching role and give you some guidance to start your journey as a professional in Higher Education. In this role, you can look forward to working with students in several important ways – helping them grapple with the course material, fostering their development of critical academic skills, providing them with feedback and assistance to advance their learning, and encouraging them to realise their full potential. The guide is designed for Lecturers and Associate Lecturers in their first term of teaching who are just starting out in their teaching roles. We have provided a range of ideas and strategies to help you get started.
