Additional Information: | The purpose of this report is to present the entire findings and subsequent analysis that backs the investigation and selection of a suitable repair for advanced composite materials. Additionally, several surface preparation / scarfing / material removal techniques used prior to bonding were also investigated and the results of which are also included in this report. Conclusions and recommendations are also presented that allow GKN Aerospace Cowes to consider further investigation into the formation of a standard repair scheme that includes the methodology for ply removal (including surface preparation for bonding), material selection, and methodology for curing. |
