Abstract
Many within the Research & Innovation Hubs are addressing either communicating multiple-narratives or embracing the potential of the new Social Media Landscape – sometimes both. Drawing upon their own experiences, in exploring Dark Tourism from such perspectives, Clive Baker and Bryn Parry will share their experiences and discuss selected case studies; hence, this workshop is likely to be of interest for those wishing to: •learn more about the umbrella topic(s) of Dark Tourism / Thanatourism / Contested Heritages / Guilty Landscapes / etc. •discuss uniting academic and personal research interests – with REF and demonstrable real-world impacts in mind •thread their own research across Research & Innovation Hub boundaries •explore overlaps and insights from their own investigations with using Web 2.1 / Multimedia / Social Media Landscape – for narratives and storytelling •enhance the, current, marketing of Tourism venues / Museums / Destinations / etc. •discuss the case studies’ insights for enhancing the real-world impact of SSU research and partnership
